As america celebrates the 250th birthday we also will be participating in events. Tomorrow June 19th we will be escorting the relay for America as they run through Moroni , mount pleasant and then fairview. Come out and watch.

I was born in 1976 so I dont remember much about the 200th celebration of our nation but I am super excited for the 250th this year and we have some awesome events going on for that celebration in Mount Pleasant and Moroni.

With about 2 weeks to go let's bring out our American Pride and let it show this 4th of July. Special prizes will be awarded to the best American Pride outfit this year, its gonna be tough to beat me though.

Come show the police your outfit at the events in Mount Pleasant or Moroni and we will score you and if your in the top ten at the end you get the prize. I can't tell you the surprise its special.

Also:

A very special dedication for the veterans on July 4th at 3 pm in mount pleasant at the Veterans memorial dont miss that !!!

Let those flags fly and the Pride show.

Here is a short Story about this guy Kevin Redd. He interviewed for a job with us about a year ago.

He did great and scored very high but we went a different direction and hired another officer. Now this would have stopped most people but Kevin is a rock and kept in touch almost every month looking for a job with us. He ended up going to post and with a month left of his post we had a job opening.

Kevin's persistent work moved him forward and honestly it was a easy hire for us because he showed he really wanted to work here.

Everyone congratulate our newest hire Officer Redd and he also graduated from the police academy last night..

Super excited to see where your career takes you.

Howdy Mount Pleasant Residents,

U-dot has done some speed studies in town and has determined that the speed limit needs to be lowered in town. You may have already seen some of the changes, but I wanted to throw this out to everyone so they are aware. The speed Limit coming into town has changed from 45 to 40 MPH on the North end and it also changed on the South end also. Please pay attention to the new speed limit.

Also the city changed the speed limit in the city park by the cemetery to 15 mph around the park.
