Howdy Mount Pleasant Residents,

U-dot has done some speed studies in town and has determined that the speed limit needs to be lowered in town. You may have already seen some of the changes, but I wanted to throw this out to everyone so they are aware. The speed Limit coming into town has changed from 45 to 40 MPH on the North end and it also changed on the South end also. Please pay attention to the new speed limit.

Also the city changed the speed limit in the city park by the cemetery to 15 mph around the park.

Hi All,

Are we geared up for the first weekend of summer break? This weekend for our department brings a lot of challenges. We see a lot more people visiting our cities and rather they are passing through or staying for a few days we welcome them all and hope they enjoy our wonderful towns. With that said please everyone be safe make sure you are wearing your seatbelts, and that you are not using your lead shoes this weekend and watch your speed. Also please a lot of parties and families getting together sometimes can result in family fights and alcohol consumption. Just make sure that your MMA skills are not used against your family and if you do consume alcohol please make sure you have a DD and don't drive.

Now for our department !! We have secured a bunch of Overtime shifts from the state and our officers will be out in force for the rest of the month. You will see them stopping a lot more cars specifically targeting DUI drivers, Seatbelt violations, and speeders during this time. So if you see extra red and blue lights around that is what they are doing.

We have had a some changes with our department and I will be announcing the changes in the next week so stay tuned.

I really appreciate all the citizens of Mount Pleasant, Fairview and Moroni for their support and look forward to other cities joining our team.

Press Release:::

Over the last couple of days our officers have collected a lot of information about drugs being distributed from a specific source in the areas of Mount Pleasant, and Moroni and areas in which North Valley provides service. We collected this information and obtained probable cause to apply for a search warrant for a residence in Spring City.

A search warrant was conducted at the residence with the help of spring city police, Sanpete Sheriff's Office and officers from UDC and ap&p.

One female was taken into custody at the residence and a large amount of drugs were found in the residence along with fi****ms. Some of the fi****ms turned out to be stolen.

A male suspect was at work at a business in moroni. The male was taken into custody and permission was given by the property owner to run our Mvp K-9 rafe around a couple of vehicles at the business. We had info on these vehicles. Rafe indicated on two vehicles and more drugs were located.

The male and female where booked into jail on the following charges.

Possession with intent to distribute m**h, co***ne, he**in, fentanyl and Ma*****na.

They were also booked on 9 counts of possession of a firearm by a restricted person and 2 counts of possession of a stolen firearm.

This investigation is continuing and we expect even more charges to follow with more suspects being charged. The names will not be released at this time as our investigation wraps up we will update the press Release with the names.
