Hot and humid conditions are expected across the area over the next several days. High temperatures combined with elevated humidity can quickly lead to heat-related illnesses, especially for those working or spending extended time outdoors.
Please remember to:
-Drink plenty of water and stay hydrated
-Apply sunscreen regularly when outdoors
-Wear lightweight, light-colored clothing
-ake frequent breaks in the shade or air conditioning whenever possible
Most importantly, check on your elderly neighbors, family members, and friends. Older adults are especially vulnerable to heat-related emergencies and may need assistance staying cool, hydrated, or getting to an air-conditioned location.
If you see signs of heat exhaustion or heat stroke, seek medical attention immediately.
Stay safe, stay cool, and look out for one another!
