Over the last decade, the Mayor and Board of Commissioners have made public safety a priority, increasing investment in the Mt. Juliet Fire Department from $2.2 million in FY2017 to more than $15 million in FY2026.

This 582% increase—the largest departmental increase in city history during that timeframe—has supported a new EMS division, new fire stations, modern apparatus, advanced equipment, expanded training opportunities, competitive compensation, and the resources needed to serve Mt. Juliet today and in the future.

The result is a stronger, better-equipped department prepared to meet the needs of today while planning for the future.

When you invest in public safety, you invest in the people, infrastructure, and services that help keep a community safe.

The growth of the Mt. Juliet Fire Department reflects a long-term commitment to public safety and preparing for the future.

In 2017, the department operated with 19 personnel. In FY2026, the City budgeted for 84 personnel positions — a significant investment in the people who serve our community every day.

Along the way, the City has expanded EMS services, opened new fire stations, added modern apparatus and equipment, enhanced in-house training opportunities, and continued investing in competitive compensation to attract and retain top talent.

These investments ensure the department is equipped, staffed, and prepared to meet the demands of Mt. Juliet today.

From 19 personnel to 84 budgeted positions, this is what investing in public safety looks like.

☕️ You heard it here first, Mt. Juliet!

A new Starbucks location is opening Monday in the heart of Mt. Juliet, serving guests daily from 4:30 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.

This location will be led by Wendy Charak, a Mt. Juliet resident who will help bring a familiar face and local connection to the newest coffee spot in town.

We hope you join us in giving them a warm Mt. Juliet welcome next week.

🧠💜 June is Alzheimer's & Brain Awareness Month, and the City of Mt. Juliet is proud to recognize June 15–19, 2026, as Del Webb at Lake Providence Alzheimer's & Brain Awareness Week.

For years, the residents of Del Webb at Lake Providence have led the way in raising awareness, honoring loved ones affected by Alzheimer's and dementia, and supporting the work of the Alzheimer's Association through meaningful community events and fundraising efforts.

Throughout the week, the community will host the 2nd Annual Alzheimer's Luminary Ceremony on June 17 and the 3rd Annual Pickleball to Slam Alzheimer's fundraiser on June 19. These events serve as powerful reminders of the impact Alzheimer's has on families while helping advance awareness, support, and hope for a cure.

We thank Del Webb at Lake Providence for their dedication to this important cause and encourage our community to join them in raising awareness during Alzheimer's & Brain Awareness Month.
