Early this morning, Mt. Juliet Fire Department crews responded to a major crash involving a tractor-trailer on Interstate 40 near the county line.
The tractor-trailer struck the center median wall, causing significant damage before catching fire. Due to the extent of the fire, the vehicle sustained heavy damage and portions of it became fused to the roadway, creating a challenging and lengthy cleanup operation.
Firefighters worked quickly to extinguish the blaze, protect the surrounding area, and assist with patient care. Two individuals were transported from the scene.
Incidents like these require a coordinated effort between fire personnel, law enforcement, EMS, TDOT, towing companies, and other partner agencies. We appreciate the professionalism and teamwork displayed by everyone involved as crews continue working to safely clear the scene and repair damaged infrastructure.
