We have more great news! 📰 Pinewood students EXCEEDED academic growth expectations in 2025/2026 on math AND reading! ➕📖 This means our students made MORE academic progress than was expected in the school year. We are also one of the top 9 elementary schools with the HIGHEST proficiency in the district! 💪 Way to go, Porcupines! 🦔

Pinewood is moving up!!! We improved our school performance grade by FIVE points last year, bringing our grade from a C to a B! We are incredibly proud of our staff and students' hard work last year to achieve this amazing accomplishment! 😄💯

TEST RESULTS ARE IN: Today, the State Board of Education released testing and accountability data for the 2025-2026, and there is good news for Gaston County Schools.

We are so proud of our amazing cafeteria staff for earning a 100 on their sanitation rating! 💯 We are thankful for the hard work, positivity, and smiling faces they bring to Pinewood every single day. 😄 Way to go, Cafeteria Team! 🦔

Our next School Spirit Night is TONIGHT! Visit the Mount Holly McDonald's (located at 704 S. Main Street) between 5:00-7:00 p.m. tonight and 15% of sales will be given back to Pinewood! Thank you to our Pinewood Performing Arts Academy PTO and Stanton Enterprise McDonalds for partnering with us to support our students! 🍔🍟🍦

Our community partners are the best! 😄❤ We have received so much support from a variety of organizations. Recently, the 101 Black Men for Highland brought supplies for our second grade team; Good Shepherd Lutheran Church - Mt Holly, NC brought us backpacks, art supplies and essentials; Cornerstone Family Worship provided first aid supplies to our teachers; and the Mount Holly CRO brought backpacks filled with more school supplies! We also want to thank Second Baptist Church, Mt. Holly, NC for providing Panera Bread breakfast for our teachers! It is such a gift to have a community that takes care of our students!!

We had such a wonderful time at our "Meet the Teacher Night" before school started! These smiling faces are the reason we are here! (Shout-out to Mrs. Copeland, our AIG teacher, for getting these awesome photos of our families and staff!) 😄

Today's the day! Go get a slushie at Sunset Slush tonight to support Pinewood! Sunset Slush is located at 548 Charles R***r Jonas Highway, Stanley. Shout-out to our wonderful PTO for kickstarting our spirit nights with such a cool treat!
