Thank you to over 100 dancers who came out to participate in our line dance classes!
This truly became a group of friends who never missed a chance to encourage one another, celebrate each other, and share their love of dance too!
So many new faces joined as well as many familiar faces came back week after week!
Jillian was humbled by the positivity even when she would make errors but she was very grateful for those who stepped up to show new dances too!
We really hope many more come out to try when the new season starts back up!
We plan to provide step sheets and music selections for practicing at home in the new season!
Once again...thank you so very much for supporting our library and all the classes being provided!

Join us at the Mount Gilead Public Library for an engaging afternoon of learning, creativity, and exploration as we travel across North America to learn about the diverse cultures, traditions, and contributions of Native American communities.

✨ Explore an interactive map and discover how geography shaped different ways of life from coast to coast.

🎨 Create your own Lakota-inspired painted horse using recycled and household materials.

🎶 Learn about traditional music and dances and join in the fun!

This virtual program from the Booth Museum's Distance Learning Program is recommended for children in 3rd–6th grade, but all interested learners are welcome.

🤠 WARNING: Side effects of attending line dancing class may include:
✔️ Toe tappin'
✔️ Boot scootin'
✔️ Smiling until your cheeks hurt
✔️ Making new friends
✔️ Randomly practicing steps in the kitchen

Our line dancing class is more than just learning steps—it is laughter, friendship, exercise, and a whole lot of fun!

Whether you are brand new or you have been dancing for years, there is a place for you on the dance floor.

THURSDAY, JUNE 18TH WILL BE OUR LAST CLASS FOR THE SEASON!

We will be starting a NEW season on October 1st, 2026!
All classes will be back at the Library Annex Room!
All ages and skill levels are encouraged to give our classes a try!

For the new season we plan to have lessons for beginners from 6:00-7:00 with a slower pace and easier choreography.
From 7:00-7:30 we will be reviewing the dances from the lesson, previously learned dances, and amping up the pace and the steps to include intermediate dancers.
And from 7:30-8:00 we will be going all in with advanced dances that will surely get your pulse racing and your feet moving!
You are more than welcome to come for the entire 2 hours or just for the time more suitable for you!

We are beyond excited to continue this class and to meet so many new faces!

Good job Stacks Supervisor Steve!!

🚨🪿 LIBRARY SECURITY ALERT 🪿🚨

This afternoon, our newest employee, Stacks Supervisor Steve interrupted his pool day to conduct his routine surveillance of the shelves when he discovered an abandoned cell phone.

After a thorough investigation involving aggressive honking, suspicious side-eye, and several accusations against innocent patrons, the phone was taken into protective custody.

Our fearless desk goose has refused to release further details, citing an ongoing investigation.

However, it has confirmed:
📱 The phone is safe.
🪿 The Goose is taking full credit.
🏆 He expects a promotion, a raise, and at least three handfuls of crackers.

If you've recently misplaced your phone, please stop by the library and claim it before SS Steve adds it to our growing collection of "treasures" and demands visitation rights.
