* Until 745 PM EDT.

* At 636 PM EDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line
extending from near Sycamore to Arlington, moving southeast at 35
mph.

HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and penny size hail.

IMPACT...Expect damage to trees and power lines.

There is now an ENHANCED RISK (level 3 of 5) for severe weather across parts of Northeast OH and Northwest PA for later today. Confidence is increasing in a cluster of strong to severe thunderstorms moving southeast across the area this evening. Damaging winds are expected to be the primary severe weather threat with these storms. Flash flooding, isolated hail, and perhaps a brief tornado are also possible.

Potential for severe weather continues today with the majority of the forecast area in a Slight Risk (Level 2 of 5). Main threats will be damaging winds and large hail with localized flash flooding possible. Timing will be this afternoon into the overnight.

One more day of elevated temperatures and heat indices across Central and Northwestern Ohio. Temperatures out there will be in the low to mid 90s with a heat index in the mid 90s to low 100s. More seasonable temperatures expected starting tomorrow.

Heat Advisory is in effect this afternoon through Wednesday evening with afternoon heat indices near 100 F.

A persistent heat dome will remain in place this week, with temperatures warming into the mid-90s and heat indices in the low 100s. Remain in air-conditioned spaces as much as possible, drink plenty of water and fluids throughout the day, wear loose-fitting, lightweight, and light-colored clothing, and avoid high-energy activities, strenuous outdoor work, or exercising during the hottest hours. Don't forget to check on family members, older adults, neighbors, and people without reliable cooling, and NEVER leave children or pets alone in a hot vehicle.

..HEAT ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM 2 PM TUESDAY TO 8 PM EDT WEDNESDAY...

For Morrow County…

* WHAT...Peak heat index values ranging from the upper 90s to lower
100s Tuesday and Wednesday afternoons. Overnight lows in the low to
mid 70s will provide for limited nighttime relief from the heat.

* WHERE...Portions of north central, northeast, and northwest Ohio.

* WHEN...From 2 PM Tuesday to 8 PM EDT Wednesday.

* IMPACTS...Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat
illnesses.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Hot and humid conditions will continue on
Thursday, and portions of the Heat Advisory may need to be
extended.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose
fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning
or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and
heat stroke.

To reduce risk during outdoor work, the Occupational Safety and
Health Administration recommends scheduling frequent rest breaks in
shaded or air conditioned environments. Anyone overcome by heat
should be moved to a cool and shaded location. Heat stroke is an
emergency! Call 9 1 1.
