There is a slight Risk (level 2 of 5) for severe weather for areas west of I-77 this evening and overnight. Areas east of I-77 across NEOH and NWPA have a marginal risk (level 1 of 5) for severe storms tonight. The main threat will be damaging wind gusts up to 60 mph. Some large hail and an isolated tornado threat may also be possible mainly for NWOH. Stay weather aware and have multiple ways to receive warnings tonight!

An Enhanced Risk (level 3 of 5) for severe weather has been issued for the I75 corridor with a Slight Risk (level 2 of 5) extending further east to the I77 corridor. All hazards are possible, especially damaging gusts up 70 mph and tornadoes late this evening into the overnight hours. Stay weather aware and have multiple ways to receive warnings tonight!

Severe thunderstorms are possible across most of the area Wednesday night with the best chance west of Interstate 77. All severe weather hazards are on the table, but at this time confidence is highest in damaging winds and heavy rainfall. ..STRONG THUNDERSTORMS WILL IMPACT MARION AND MORROW COUNTIES THROUGH 345 PM EDT...

At 259 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along
a line extending from 8 miles south of Bucyrus to near Marion to near
Richwood. Movement was east at 50 mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects.

Locations impacted include...
Marion, Mount Gilead, Cardington, Prospect, Morral, Waldo,
Chesterville, Sparta, Caledonia, New Bloomington, Edison, Green Camp,
Marengo, Fulton, Shauck, Iberia, and State Route 229 at US Route 23.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.

Torrential rainfall is also occurring with these storms and may lead
to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.

A Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect until 900 PM EDT for
north central Ohio.

Strong to severe storms are possible across the eastern half of the area this afternoon into early this evening. There is a Marginal Risk (Level 1 of 5) of severe weather along and east of I-71 with a Slight Risk (Level 2 of 5) across portions of interior Northeast Ohio and Northwest Pennsylvania. Damaging winds will be the main hazard, but tornadoes cannot be ruled out in the Slight Risk area. Locally heavy rain is possible in storms.

* WHAT...Peak heat index values of around 100 degrees expected.

* WHERE...Portions of north central, northeast, and northwest Ohio.

* WHEN...From noon today to 8 PM EDT this evening.

* IMPACTS...Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat
illnesses.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of
the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors.

Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose
fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning
or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and
heat stroke.

Hot and humid conditions for north central and northwest Ohio today warranting a Heat Advisory with temps in the lower 90s and heat index values nearing 100. Further east, still very warm and humid, but below criteria. More storms possible later today and tonight.

A heat advisory has been issued for NW Ohio from Noon to 8pm Wednesday. High temperatures are expected to climb into the lower 90s with heat index values around 100 degrees. Stay hydrated and take frequent breaks if outside in the sun during the heat of the day.
