Our Story
The Lake County Musician's Swap Meet is the is the largest and longest continually running monthly Swap Meet of its kind in Florida and the Southeast (and probably the nation). Started in August 2009 at a local Best Western, we moved over to Renninger's Florida Twin Markets on January 2010. We begin our tenth year in August 2018.
We bring together dealers, collectors, musicians and the general public for an afternoon of fun with a little business on the side where everyone can buy, sell or trade musical instruments and equipment, enjoy some excellent food in a great location and finish the day by playing a little music. Some months we have Special Performances by some of the areas best acts.
Our event takes place every month on the second Sunday under the big covered Pavilion at the Renninger's Twin Markets on Rt. 441 in Mount Dora, Florida from 8 am until 3 pm.
Admission for the public is just $2 from 11 am until 2:30 pm. Admission after 2:30 pm is FREE!!
There will be no charge for children under 14 accompanied by an adult. Children must be accompanied by an adult at all times.
You are allowed to carry in 1 item to sell or trade, such as a guitar, amplifier, microphone, Saxophone, etc., at no additional charge. Additional items will be charged $2 for each item carried in. If you have a large number of items to sell, please consider getting one of our Dealer or Tailgating Spaces (information below).
There is ample FREE parking and a Disabled Parking Area by the Swap Meet entrance gate.
We have a food vendor with full breakfast and lunch menus.
For the budget conscious, we offer $1 coffee, soda and water as well as $2 hotdogs.
For our adult guests we offer a $10 Bucket of Beer, with your choice of 5 cans of Bud or Bud Light (or you can purchase individual cans for just $2.25).
The event is advertised all over the web via Craigslist, FaceBook (and other such sites), on Cox and BrightHouse cable, on radio and in various printed media.
There is also a standalone stage set aside for our Music Lovers Jam and for manufacturer's presentations. Our jam draws many of the best professional musicians in Central Florida.
We open our Jam Stage at noon for an Open Mic/Jam and it runs until 3 PM. PA system, mics, amps and drums are provided.
You must sign in at the soundboard by the stage and be tuned up and ready to play when called. Beverages will NOT be allowed on stage.
In order to provide more information to our guests, some months we will have a Featured Manufacturer or Dealer. Our Featured Manufacturer/Dealer will be doing presentations about their products at approx. 9:30 AM and 11:30 PM on the Jam stage. The Featured Manufacturer/Dealer will be in Booth 200, where they will have product displays, hand out promotional materials and make product sales.
Dealer Spaces are $20 and are approx. 10' x 15' and include two antique market style wooden tables. Additional tables are available for $5 each. We suggest you bring own table coverings.
The Dealer fee includes two adult passes per space (there will be no charge for dealers with children under 14). Vendors will be allowed to set up any time after 7:30 am. Vendors will have a parking area close (real close) to the pavilion.
