📣 Interested in helping shape the future of Mt. Crested Butte?

The Town of Mt. Crested Butte is accepting applications for an open seat on the Planning Commission! This is an opportunity to play an important role in guiding community growth, reviewing development proposals, and helping shape planning policies that impact the future of our town.

✅ Applicants must be Mt. Crested Butte residents and registered voters.

💲 Commissioners receive a $150 stipend per attended meeting and typically meet on the first and third Wednesday of each month.

📝 To apply, submit a letter of interest to Town Clerk Tiffany O’Connell at [email protected] by 5:00 PM on Wednesday, July 21, 2026.

The Town Council will make the appointment at its July 21 meeting, and applicants are encouraged to attend.

🍔🎶🏔️ The tastiest competition of the summer is back!

Join the Town of Mt. Crested Butte for the 4th Annual Pickin' a Food Truck Competition on Saturday, August 8, 2026, at the Crested Butte Mountain Resort Dirt Lot from 3-8:30 pm! Enjoy an afternoon packed with incredible food, live music, family-friendly fun, and community spirit.

Sample bites from competing food trucks, cast your vote for your favorite, and help crown this year's champion! Complimentary tasting bites and judging punch cards are limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis, so arrive early.

🧘‍♀️ Yoga at the Garden is back for Summer 2026! 🌿☀️

Join the Town of Mt. Crested Butte and the Crested Butte Community Yoga Coop every Wednesday from June 17 through September 16 for FREE all-levels community yoga at the Mountain Wedding Garden Pavilion from Noon–1 PM.

Bring your mat, water bottle, and enjoy a relaxing midday reset surrounded by mountain views. Limited supplies will be available, and donations to CB Yoga Co-op are welcome!

Please arrive early as class begins promptly at Noon.

📣 The 2026–27 Winter Admissions Tax Grant Cycle is OPEN!

The Town of Mt. Crested Butte is now accepting applications for the Winter Admissions Tax Grant Program, supporting events and programming that bring community members and visitors together, encourage repeat visitation, foster creativity, create positive community impact, and enhance economic vitality within Mt. Crested Butte.

Eligible applicants include:
✔️ 501(c)(3) & 501(c)(6) nonprofits
✔️ For-profit businesses
✔️ Government agencies & organizations

📍 Events/programs must take place within the Town of Mt. Crested Butte.

🗓️ Application Deadline: Tuesday, June 30, 2026 at 5 p.m.

The Town of Mt. Crested Butte invites you to join us for an unforgettable evening of music, family fun, and fireworks at the MTCB Independence Day Celebration & Fireworks on Friday, July 3, 2026!

Come kick off the holiday with an epic night at the Red Lady Stage at the Crested Butte Mountain Resort (CBMR) Base Area starting at 5 PM. We’re bringing the energy with live music all night long featuring Chris Coady, The Hip Snacks and Ridgeliners!

Bring the whole crew for an evening packed with fun—kids’ activities, a bouncy house by The Trailhead Children's Museum, face painting by Patty Sabino, snow cones from Big Wheel Beverages, a light show by Blackline Entertainment, and delicious food and drinks from CBMR and José Crested Butte.

And don’t miss the grand finale… a spectacular fireworks show lighting up the mountain sky at approximately 9:35 PM! ✨

Grab your chairs, gather your friends, and celebrate Independence Day with the community in true mountain-town style!

🏕️ The Mt. Crested Butte Campground is now OPEN for the season!

Located at Gothic Road and Winterset Drive, the campground offers free walk-in tent camping on a first-come, first-served basis and provides easy access to trails, transit, and all the outdoor recreation Mt. Crested Butte has to offer.

Please remember:
⛺ Tent camping only
🚫 No vehicle camping
🐶 No dogs allowed
🔥 No campfires or charcoal grills

Help us keep the campground clean and enjoyable for everyone by following all posted rules and packing out trash.

A section of the Town Rec Path will be closed starting tomorrow (Friday, May 8), from Snowmass Rd heading north to the Snowcrest Bridge near the Emmons Building crosswalk.

➡️ Please use the alternate route on the east side of Gothic Rd.
🚶‍♀️🚴‍♀️ Use caution in the area and follow posted signage.
