Wednesday’s compost collection was unable to be fully completed as scheduled, leaving a few streets outstanding.

Crews will be prioritizing those remaining collections today before beginning Thursday’s scheduled service. The goal is to collect all remaining material and ensure residents are taken care of today, with no further delays expected.

The City of Mount Clemens is looking for qualified candidates for two current job openings:

🚒 Firefighter – Fire Department
Starting at $55,595.69, increasing to $73,640.43 after 3 years. Help protect our community by responding to fires, medical emergencies, rescues and other calls while maintaining equipment and supporting fire prevention efforts.

🔧 Mechanic II – Streets Department
$30.04–$31.37 per hour. Perform skilled mechanical work on City vehicles, heavy equipment, small engines and other equipment, including maintenance, diagnostics, repairs, welding and emergency field assistance.

📢 NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

The City of Mount Clemens will hold a public hearing regarding its proposed application for Transportation Alternatives Program (TAP) funding through MDOT and SEMCOG.

The proposed funding would support a bike path connection between Shadyside Park and South Main Street at the Robertson Street intersection. Improvements may include:

🚲 Shared-use path construction
♿ ADA-accessible curb ramps
🚶 Pedestrian crossing and safety improvements
🚴 Bicycle accommodations
🪧 Signage and pavement markings
🔗 Improved connections to downtown, local parks, neighborhoods, the Clinton River Spillway bike path and the regional Freedom Trail network

🚧 Temporary Parking Lot Closure Notice 🚧

The City of Mount Clemens Senior Center parking lot will be temporarily closed on Wednesday, September 9, from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

During the closure, dog park visitors may park along Lafayette Street. Parking is also permitted along the first portion of the service entrance road.
