Behind every service we provide and every life we touch is a dedicated team of staff members who make it all possible.

To show our appreciation, we recently created a Refueling Snack Station filled with grab-and-go snacks and drinks. It's a simple way to help our team recharge during busy days and to let them know how valued they are.

This Labor Day, we want to extend a heartfelt thank you to our staff. Your hard work, commitment, and compassion strengthen our organization and our community every day. We are incredibly grateful for each and every one of you.

For 37 years, MCREST has been Macomb County's largest homelessness services organization — providing emergency shelter, meals, case management, and housing assistance to men, women, and children in crisis. This year, we opened our brand new permanent Men's Shelter, bringing our total capacity to 60 beds. But hundreds of people experience homelessness in Macomb County every single night. The need is real, and your support makes a difference.

It's hard to get solid data on homelessness. But this new finding from our neighbors in Washtenaw County highlights what we know from experience -- the number of people without homes (in our state, in our country) is increasing rapidly.

As rising homelessness remains an ongoing challenge and topic of community discussion, newly released data further illustrates the severity of the problem.
