August celebrations! Jerry McGill joined Mount Ayr Fire in 2003. Thank you Jerry for your years of service, and all the laughter you bring us. Cody Jay celebrated a birthday. We also celebrate our kids birthdays, Nick Triggs and Jessica McCreary. Anniversary celebrations go to Brandon and Kay-Lee O'Neil.

Ayr Days was so much fun for Mount Ayr Fire. We are always so thankful for the community support we receive. We want to thank everyone who showed up to the water fights. The firemen love this as much as the kids. And thank you to everyone who played Bingo with us tonight! The turnout was so appreciated. We would also like to thank Brent Ricker, Ricker Heating and Air Conditioning for sweetening the pot on our last game of the night. We hope everyone enjoyed the evening, and had a wonderful Ayr Days. Thank you to the Chamber for all the hard work they put into this celebration.

A huge thank you to Linn County Emergency Management for leading this past weekend's CERT training! We also appreciate Clarke County Emergency Management and Ringgold County Hospital for providing additional training sessions and sharing their expertise.
Ringgold County now has 11 newly trained CERT members who are ready to serve our community. Welcome to the team, and thank you for your commitment to helping others!

Everyone welcome Luise Laas, a university student from Estonia, Europe, to Mount Ayr! She is doing a summer exchange program selling educational books and apps for families from young toddler age, all the way to college prep.
Luise has acquired her peddler's permit and will be in town today (July 27) and tomorrow July (28), so if you see her feel free to say hi!

This weekend, we had members of the Mt Ayr Volunteer Fire Department and Ember’s complete CERT Training. It was a weekend spent learning how we can be of assistance in community emergency situations and response. We highly encourage anyone interested in emergency response, or just wanting to learn more about how to better prepare yourself and your family, to take the class and be a part of this reformed group! Thanks to Ringgold County Emergency Management for organizing!
