At approximately 18:15 yesterday, the Mt. Arlington Fire Department was dispatched for a reported Structure fire on Howard Blvd. Chief 1 and Chief 2 arrived on-scene to a 3 ½ story wood frame residence with heavy fire and smoke showing from the C side of the residence and immediately struck a 2nd alarm. We received confirmation that all occupants were evacuated from the residence. Picatinny Fire arrived on-scene and immediately stretched a line to the C side and had a good knock on the fire. Mt. Arlington Engine 5 crews arrived on scene and stretched two lines and made entry through the front door on the A side of the residence. Mutual aid companies worked alongside Mt. Arlington crews to extinguish the fire that spread throughout the residence. The bulk of the fire was knocked by 19:20. Great work by the Mt. Arlington Fire Department and all mutual aid companies.
The Mt. Arlington fire officers would like to thank all the mutual aid agencies that helped with the incident:
