Mount Airy Police Department - MD

The Town of Mount Airy, Maryland, located in Carroll and Frederick Counties with a population of 9,875, is seeking a highly qualified and motivated law enforcement professional to serve as Deputy Chief for the Mount Airy Police Department. The Deputy Chief will oversee Patrol Operations and the Administrative Services Unit, playing a vital role in upholding the Department’s Core Values and Mission Statement. Serving as the Deputy Chief, this position will lead and direct departmental efforts in community outreach and engagement, public safety initiatives, training and career development, and recruitment and retention of sworn personnel.

Required Education and/or Experience:
• Bachelor’s Degree preferred but not required; a minimum of 8 years of police supervisory or management experience required.
• Maryland Police certification; Supervisor School and Administrator certification by MPTC or comparable certification.
• 15 or more years of relevant experience.
• Held the rank of Lieutenant or above.

The Town of Mount Airy offers a competitive benefits package. Salary range for this position is $90,000 - $98,197. Salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
