FRN BOARD MEMBER SPOTLIGHT

Dana Schrack serves as a School Social Worker at Cameron High School and is passionate about supporting students, families, and the work being done throughout Marshall County.

When asked about her favorite FRN initiative, Dana shared:
“The FRN does so many great things, but my favorite initiative is the Healthy Classroom Essentials program for Marshall County schools.” She also reflected on how meaningful it has been to watch the program grow over the years: “Years ago, when I first started working with the FRN, I shared this idea with them. They took it and truly ran with it—developing it into something even better than I had imagined.”

Now working within the school system, Dana sees firsthand “how valuable this support is and how much of a difference it makes.” As a former Marshall County FRN employee and social worker, Dana says she chose to serve because she is “deeply passionate about the work the FRN does” and wants to help support its mission however she can.

We had a wonderful morning at Grand Vue Park on Thursday for our Very Hungry Caterpillar Playgroup! Children enjoyed making caterpillars, creating bug masks, playing at the playground, and more.

Thank you to everyone who joined us. We loved seeing children learn, play, and connect with friends in the outdoors! It’s a nice way to make other parent friends too.

Make sure to join us for our June Playgroup and June Mom Walk & Talks!

As part of our Building Healthy Families Series, participants joined instructor Ashley Wear for a fun, hands-on Eat Better for Less workshop where everyone learned how to make a simple and delicious chickpea salad. Along with preparing and enjoying the recipe together, there was also great conversation about healthy eating and budget-saving tips and tricks for families.

Everyone headed home with ingredients to recreate the recipe and new ideas for making healthy meals simple, affordable, and delicious. Thank you to everyone who joined us for a wonderful evening of learning, cooking, and connecting!
