Water Infrastructure Construction Continues! Here is what residents need to know for the week of June 15:

- Construction continues on Beachwood Road next week and will return to Commerce Blvd/Bartlett Blvd. Please remember that even if you do not see active construction, you should never drive into the project area if signs indicate streets are closed. The Orono Police Department is ticketing drivers who drive through the project area.
- Residents on Evergreen will be switched to City water and temporary water lines will be removed.
- No changes to traffic control or water shutdowns are planned for this week.

Work within the Water Infrastructure Project has shifted from Bartlett Blvd/Commerce Blvd to Beachwood Road as crews install the watermain. This means the construction scene in front of Surfside will be quiet until next week.

❗This does not mean drivers should ignore the detour ❗Traffic is still closed in this section, and Orono Police Department has been ticketing drivers who drive through the project area.

Areas of focus can include purchasing bins and compostable bags, paying for hauling costs, expanding waste enclosures or retrofitting chutes, managing or preventing the waste of bulky items, and educating residents. Water Treatment infrastructure continues. Here's what residents should know this week:

-The City has made a decision to lower the speed limit throughout the detour to 20 MPH. Speed limit signs have been installed along the detour route.

-New water services on Evergreen Road will be installed. Once completed and tested, those homes will be disconnected from temporary water.

-Construction work will continue on Beachwood Road and in front of Surfside Park next week.
