Sometimes it is important to take some time, slow down and appreciate all the things that make this life worth living. Everyday our volunteers show up to give their time and energy to help the people in their community, we wanted to show them how much we appreciate their dedication to our cause.

Our amazing friends at Charlson Meadows provided the perfect space for our staff and volunteers to slow down and enjoy this beautiful life we are all living. Thank you to Charlson Meadows, and all of the people who spend their time working to make the world a better place.

Today, we want to highlight another local partner that continuously donates wonderful, healthy produce to our food shelf - Gale Woods Farm. Since 2015, Gale Woods farm has donated 5,338 pounds of food!

Located in Minnetrista, Gale Woods Farm is a part of the Three Rivers Park District and serves as a unique educational opportunity for visitors of all ages to gain an understanding of agriculture, food production and land stewardship. Classes of all kinds are available as well as many activities to do on the grounds. On Saturdays from 9:30 AM–noon, you can explore the barn, visit the gardens, meet the animals up close and more! 💙 Remembering a Cherished Volunteer 💙

We cannot express how saddened we are to hear of the passing of a wonderful friend, supporter and volunteer of WeCAN - Cinda Henrikson Dorholt.

For many years, Cinda generously gave her time and heart to our community. As a Meals On Wheels volunteer, she was always willing to be the one to train new drivers or step into other roles when needed. Whenever possible, she used her strength and determination to spread kindness and make a difference in the lives of others.

We are grateful for the many years Cinda spent serving others; her impact will live on in the people she has inspired and helped. Thank you Cinda.

Our thoughts and prayers are with her family, friends and everyone who had the privilege of knowing her. 💙

Last week, we said goodbye to our dear friend and co-worker CiCi. ☹️

CiCi joined WeCAN in October as a Heading Home Housing Resource Navigator through our partnership with AmeriCorps. In her time here, she has helped countless families and individuals find stability. Her calm and friendly presence put everyone at ease and made her a favorite around the office. She will be missed!

Please join us in extending our heartfelt gratitude to Dave Netznik for his years of service to WeCAN as a board member!

Dave has been an integral member of the WeCAN board for 3 years and has been an active volunteer for even longer. Not only is he a dedicated Meals On Wheels driver, he also volunteers for many of our family programs such as Adopt-a-Family or Ready to Learn.

We are glad he will be sticking around to continue helping our community!

This wonderful family from Maple Knoll Farm has been generously donating HUNDREDS of POUNDS of CORN every WEEK!! Our clients have really enjoyed having the fresh sweet corn to add to their meals.
