We are proud to celebrate Colquitt County High School for being recognized as a Georgia AP Honor School in three major categories, highlighting the outstanding work of our students, teachers, and school leaders. 👏

This recognition reflects a commitment to providing rigorous academic opportunities that challenge students to grow, achieve, and prepare for success beyond high school. Through Advanced Placement courses, our students are earning college-level experience while building confidence for the future.

Last night, we had the honor of celebrating 29 incredible retirees whose years of dedication, service, and love have left a lasting impact within our district. 🌟

Together, these retirees represent an amazing 795 years of service devoted to capturing hearts, inspiring minds, teaching students, and serving our community. 👏

When asked what advice they would give to new teachers and staff entering our school system, one message stood out above all else: relationships matter.

“Get to know your students.”
“Build positive relationships with students and parents.”
“Be kind to one another.”
“Ask for help.”
“Seek advice from veteran teachers.”
“When you join Colquitt County Schools, you are joining a family.”

Their wisdom reflects the heart of what makes our district so special. Beyond lessons and classrooms, education is about caring for people, supporting one another, and creating a place where students and staff can thrive together.

Funston Elementary School has been recognized by the Georgia Governor’s Office of Student Achievement as a 2025 SSAS Greatest Gains Silver Award Winner, placing the school among the top-performing schools in Georgia for student growth! 👏

This prestigious recognition highlights schools demonstrating exceptional academic progress, and Funston earned its Silver distinction by ranking in the 95th–96th percentile statewide for student growth. Over the past three years, Funston students and staff have continued to raise the bar.
