Today, we celebrated a remarkable woman whose love, wisdom, and servant heart have touched countless lives.
After 20 years of dedicated service to the Colquitt County School System, Mrs. Lucy Peterson is officially retiring. Throughout her career, she faithfully served students, families, and colleagues with compassion, commitment, and grace. Her impact extends far beyond her years of service, leaving a legacy that will continue to inspire those who had the privilege of knowing and working alongside her.
This special celebration was made even more meaningful as Mrs. Peterson was surrounded by her husband, children, grandchildren, friends, former coworkers, and loved ones. She was also joined by her Stringfellow Stinger Bee family, who gathered to honor and celebrate the difference she has made in our school community. The room was filled with laughter, memories, gratitude, and love as we reflected on the many lives she has touched throughout her career.
Mrs. Peterson, thank you for your dedication, your servant leadership, and the countless ways you have invested in children and families. Your kindness, encouragement, and commitment to others have left an imprint that will not be forgotten.
We wish you many years of happiness, good health, relaxation, and treasured moments with family and friends as you begin this well-deserved next chapter.
Congratulations on your retirement, Mrs. Peterson. Thank you for 20 years of faithful service and for being such an important part of our Stinger Bee family. ๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ

๐Ÿ†๐Ÿ BACK-TO-BACK TITLE I SCHOOL OF EXCELLENCE! ๐Ÿ๐Ÿ†

What an incredible way to close out the school year together.

Today, during our final staff gathering before summer break, Stringfellow Elementary was proudly presented with the Title I School of Excellence Banner, recognizing our school as being in the Top 5% of schools in Georgia for Academic Achievement and Student Growth.

What makes this recognition even more special is that this marks the second consecutive year Stringfellow Elementary has earned this prestigious distinction. Sustaining excellence is often more difficult than achieving it the first time, and this honor reflects the consistency, dedication, and relentless commitment of our staff to ensuring high levels of learning for every student.

This recognition belongs to our entire school community. It is a testament to the hard work of our teachers, paraprofessionals, support staff, office staff, custodians, cafeteria team, district leaders, students, parents, and community partners. Every person has played a role in helping our students succeed.

As we celebrate this accomplishment, we remain grounded in our mission: To ensure that all students learn and excel at grade level or higher. While we are proud of this moment, we know our best work is still ahead of us.

Thank you to every member of the Stringfellow family for believing in our students and in one another. Together, we continue to prove what is possible when a team is united around a common purpose.

Two years. One standard: Excellence.

๐ŸŒŸ Celebrating Our Kindergartenโ€“4th Grade Honors Programs ๐ŸŒŸ

This week, we had the joy of celebrating our Kindergarten through 4th Grade Honors Programs, and what a special time it was! These programs gave us the opportunity to recognize the hard work, growth, achievements, and wonderful character of our students.

From our youngest learners in kindergarten to our rising leaders in 4th grade, each student has grown in meaningful ways this school year. We are so proud of the effort they have shown, the goals they have reached, and the confidence they have gained along the way.

During the honors programs, students were recognized for many accomplishments, including academic achievement, outstanding effort, good citizenship, improvement, leadership, attendance, and positive character. Each award was a reflection of dedication, perseverance, and the many ways our students shine both inside and outside the classroom.

To our students: We are incredibly proud of you! Your smiles, excitement, hard work, and eagerness to learn make our school a brighter place every day. Whether you received an award or cheered on a classmate, you helped make these celebrations meaningful and memorable.

To our families: Thank you for your continued support, encouragement, and partnership throughout the year. Your love and involvement play such an important role in your childโ€™s success, and we were honored to celebrate these proud moments with you.

To our teachers and staff: Thank you for the time, care, patience, and dedication you pour into our students each day. Your encouragement helps them grow, believe in themselves, and reach new milestones.

Congratulations to all of our Kindergarten through 4th Grade students on a wonderful year of learning and growth! We are so proud of everything you have accomplished and cannot wait to see how you continue to shine. โœจ๐Ÿ“š๐Ÿ’™

๐ŸŽ“โœจ Celebrating Our 5th Grade Graduates โœจ๐ŸŽ“

This week, we had the honor of celebrating our 5th Grade Graduation and Awards Ceremony, and it was truly a special and memorable occasion. It was a wonderful opportunity to recognize the hard work, growth, accomplishments, and character of this amazing group of students.

To our 5th graders: We are so proud of each of you. Over the years, you have grown in so many waysโ€”not only academically, but also as leaders, friends, problem-solvers, and young people with bright futures ahead. You have worked hard, faced challenges, learned new things, encouraged one another, and created memories that will last a lifetime.

Our awards ceremony was a beautiful reminder that success comes in many forms. Whether students were recognized for academics, leadership, citizenship, effort, improvement, creativity, kindness, attendance, or perseverance, every award represented dedication and growth. We are proud of the achievements that were celebrated, but even more proud of the character our students showed throughout the year.

To our families: Thank you for your support, encouragement, and partnership. Your love and guidance helped these students reach this important milestone. We know this was a proud moment for you, and we are grateful to have shared it with you.

To our teachers and staff: Thank you for pouring your hearts into these students. Your patience, care, and commitment helped prepare them for the next chapter of their journey.

As our 5th graders move on to middle school, we hope they carry with them the lessons they have learned, the friendships they have made, and the confidence to keep reaching for their dreams. We will miss their smiles, energy, and leadership, but we cannot wait to see all the wonderful things they will accomplish.

Congratulations, 5th Grade Class! We are so proud of you. Keep shining, keep learning, and always remember how special you are. ๐Ÿ’™๐ŸŽ“โœจ

Watching these sweet little learners walk across the stage filled our hearts with so much pride and joy. Over the past year, they have grown in countless ways โ€” learning their letters and numbers, making new friends, building confidence, and discovering just how bright their futures truly are.

To our amazing PRE-K students: we are so proud of each and every one of you. Your smiles, laughter, curiosity, and excitement made this year unforgettable. Though this chapter is ending, we know you are ready for the wonderful adventures ahead in kindergarten and beyond.

A huge thank you to our teachers, staff, and families for the love, support, and encouragement you pour into these children every single day. It truly takes a village, and we are grateful to celebrate this journey together.

A Full-Circle Moment at Stringfellow โค๏ธ๐ŸŽ“

Last Thursday, May 14, 2026, we had the incredible honor of welcoming back a very special group of seniors for our Senior Walk.

These students once walked the halls of Stringfellow as elementary students, carrying backpacks bigger than they were, learning their first lessons, making their first friends, and dreaming about the future. Last week, they returned wearing caps, gowns, smiles, and the pride of everything they have accomplished.

Watching them walk through Stringfellow one more time was a beautiful reminder of how quickly time passes and how deeply our school community matters. Our hallways were filled with cheers, happy tears, hugs, and memories as our current students looked on with excitement, seeing what is possible when hard work, determination, and heart lead the way.

To our graduating seniors: Stringfellow will always be part of your story. We are so proud of the people you have become, and we cannot wait to see the amazing places life takes you next. Once a Stringfellow student, always part of the Stringfellow family.

Congratulations, Class of 2026. You will always have a home here. โค๏ธ๐ŸŽ“
