Chamber’s 77th Banquet on Wednesday
The Moulton Chamber of Commerce will host its 77th Annual Membership and Awards Banquet tonight, March 25 (Wednesday), at George’s Hall.Guests will enjoy a quaint event this year, one that will be dedicated to celebrating the achievements and contributions of the local business community, to recognizing outstanding members, and to honoring excellence across various sectors through the awards presentation.The evening begins with the social at 6:30 pm, and shortly thereafter, the official program begins at 7:00 pm with special introductions and remarks, followed by a meal catered by Junior Chaloupka.Following supper, the Chamber executive board will recognize individuals with the Outstanding Senior, Chamber Appreciation, and Distinguished Citizen awards. Three top-notch MHS students- Karsyn Blahuta, daughter of Steven and Dana Blahuta; Landon Chaloupka, son of Chad and Niki Chaloupka; and Araceli Vazquez, daughter of the late Gerardo and Maria Vazquez- were nominated for the Outstanding Senior Award by the MHS faculty and staff. The Chamber Appreciation Award will go to an individual or group who has greatly helped out the Chamber in some way, shape, or form over the course of the last year or in a continuous role spanning several years. The Chamber sought out community nominations for this year’s Distinguished Citizen, with four names being submitted. All nominees are active, dedicated members of the Moulton community. All volunteered countless hours in various capacities over the years, such as supporting veterans, guiding operating councils, and serving on executive boards, and supporting the youth either through school or church, to name a small few, all the while promoting Moulton and its values through their actions and advocacy.Check out Facebook and next week’s Moulton Eagle to see the announcement of winners.
