All State Offices at the Lawrence County Judicial & Administrative Building (Judge’s, District Attorney & Circuit Clerk) will be closed Wednesday, Thursday & Friday. We wish you all a Happy & Blessed Thanksgiving.

If you received a Jury Summons for September 23, you do not have to appear. The case scheduled for trial has settled.

SCAM ALERT ‼️

The Circuit Clerk’s Office has been contacted by concerned citizens who have received telephone calls informing them they failed to appear for Jury Duty and must either pay a fine or be arrested. The caller states he is from either the Sheriff’s Department or the Police Department and even gives a name and badge number. The caller instructs them to transfer funds to an account and then a zoom hearing will be set up with the Judge. THIS IS A SCAM!!!!!!!!

Never under any circumstances transfer money, purchase debit cards, or give callers private information that could compromise your identity or bank accounts.

If you receive such a call and have questions or concerns, you may contact this office at (256) 974-2438.

Please be alert and never release information over the phone which could be harmful to you or your family and further, inform your friends and loved ones to be aware of potential scammers. We cannot be too safe in this day and age.
