🌧️ THE RAIN HAS ARRIVED… BUT THE BURN BAN IS STILL IN PLACE! 🔥🚫

We know everyone is excited to see some much-needed rain here in the Gorge! However, the recent rain does NOT mean the burn ban has been lifted.

🔥 The burn ban remains in effect, which means no debris burning, burn barrels, or other prohibited outdoor burning until restrictions are officially lifted.

🏠 Have a wood-burning stove or fireplace?
If your home is heated with a wood-burning stove or fireplace, you may continue to use it for heating your home. Please make sure your stove, chimney, and flue are clean and in good working order, and always practice good fire safety.

🌧️ Just because we’re getting rain today doesn’t mean our fuels are completely out of danger. Conditions can change quickly, and we want everyone to stay safe.

Please don’t assume the rain means it’s OK to burn. Wait until the burn ban is officially lifted.

Your Mosier Firefighters joined the Hood River County task force made up of Hood River Fire Department, West Side Fire Department, and Wy’East Fire Department. Mosier Fire sent a type four brush engine with 3 personnel to help our neighbors to the north in Klickitat County with the Avery Fire. While members were helping our neighbors we had staff in district ready for any other calls. Mutual aide is a very important in the Columbia River Gorge with the wind driven fires we have.

HAPPY 250th BIRTHDAY United States of America!!!

Please leave the fireworks to the professionals. Also remember that firework bans are in place throughout the local area. If you plan on drinking, please have a sober driver to get you home.

Wildland Firefighter Week of Remembrance

This week, we pause to honor the men and women who have made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty.

It has been an especially difficult week for our brothers and sisters in the U.S. Forest Service and the U.S. Wildland Fire Service following the tragic loss of three firefighters this past weekend.

Today also marks the anniversary of the loss of the 19 Granite Mountain Hotshots, who gave their lives while battling the Yarnell Hill Fire in Arizona on June 30, 2013. Their courage, dedication, and sacrifice will never be forgotten.

No matter what agency we work for or volunteer with, we all share the same mission: to protect lives, property, and our natural resources.

The members of Mosier Fire District extend our deepest condolences and prayers to the families, friends, and agencies mourning the loss of their brothers and sisters. We stand with you, today and always.
