That’s a wrap on the 12th annual Tri-Cities 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb. What a way to honor the memory of those who gave the ultimate sacrifice on September 11, 2001. Our team turned out in a huge way this year. We had 17 team members who raised over $4,000 for the event. This our biggest ever!!! We will have an official release later to personally thank each of our donors.

Today marks a quarter of a century since the tragic events of September 11, 2001. Twenty-five years have passed, but for the fire service, the passage of time will never dim the memory of that fateful morning.

Today, we pause to honor the nearly 3,000 lives lost, including the 343 FDNY firefighters, 60 police officers, and 8 paramedics who made the ultimate sacrifice while running toward danger. We also remember the hundreds of first responders who have since lost their lives to 9/11-related illnesses.

For our department, their bravery is not just history—it is our daily standard. Every time we put on the uniform, we carry their legacy of courage, sacrifice, and brotherhood.

Please join us today in remembering and honoring the fallen, the survivors, and the families who carry their memories every day.

A man was airlifted to Johnson City Medical Center after being trapped in his vehicle following a wreck Sunday morning
