Grant County EDC was delighted to take part in the 2026 Washington Economic Development Association (WEDA) Summer Conference, “Energizing Innovation: Building Our Economic Development Toolbox to Grow Jobs for the Future,” in the Tri-Cities last week. Our very own Executive Director, Brant Mayo (and WEDA Board Treasurer) moderated “Energizing Cutting-Edge Clean Economy Strategies,” guiding a timely conversation with leaders from Washington Legislature, Energy Northwest, Washington State Department of Commerce and Pacific Northwest Hydrogen Association about how clean energy, infrastructure, and innovation can drive job growth and long-term competitiveness.
Over three days, the conference brought together EDOs, tribal, port, business, workforce, and civic leaders from across Washington for tours, panels, and meaningful dialogue. Brant said, “WEDA’s Summer Conference creates an important space for leaders to learn from one another, deepen partnerships, and think strategically about how we grow jobs across the state,” adding, “It’s a great convening of sharp, energetic, and caring people.”
For Grant County EDC and fellow attendees, the gathering delivered practical takeaways, stronger statewide relationships, and fresh perspective to support local business growth, workforce development, infrastructure planning, and long-term competitiveness.
