Today marks one year since we lost one of our own, Marvin Pigford — Moselle 5.

A whole year has passed, but some people leave behind a presence that time simply doesn’t erase. Marvin was more than a firefighter and more than a call sign. He was a friend, a brother, a part of this department, and a part of the history that made Moselle what it is today.

We still remember the stories, the lessons, the laughter, and time in the service he gave to this community. We remember a man who believed, “God is the judge, I am just the laborer,” and who reminded us to live every day like it is our last and show Jesus’ love.

Those words mean a little more when someone you love is no longer here to say them.

Marvin may have answered his final call a year ago today, but Moselle 5 will never be forgotten. His service, his friendship, and the mark he left on this department continue on in those who had the privilege of serving beside him.

Today, we remember Marvin. We miss him. And we are grateful for all the time we were blessed to call him one of ours.

Rest easy, Moselle 5. Forever a brother. Forever part of Moselle.
