Meyers Road is currently closed to through traffic from Mullen Rd to the dead end due to a tree onto wires. The wires are live, proven by units on the scene.

Yes, the tree appears to be passible, however, the tree may shift, it may be energized or your vehicle may become stuck underneath. Do not attempt to drive under the tree, you will be putting yourself and passengers at a great risk.

As your Fire Department we have been out throughout the duration of this weather event. We have been dealing with the public safety issues that we can manage. We tie up caution tape and close roads that are deemed unsafe for the public to protect you.

We understand it is inconvenient when roads get closed and route are blocked. But we treat all wires as if they are live. We are not the electrical experts.

What we are asking:

- Please DO NOT drive over, through, around, under, power lines that are not in their normal position. We treat all wires as live until they are fixed.

- Please DO NOT take down caution tape, electrical hazard tape, cones or other barriers. This is put in place for your safety. We do not close roads for fun, closing roads also affects us while responding to emergencies, but we have to keep our community safe from imminent hazards.

- Please be patient with us as the Fire Department. We often are the messenger to Duke Energy for issues that arise in our area because it pertains to public safety. Clermont County 911 makes the notification directly to Duke Energy at our request. We do not have a special phone number that makes them come faster, we make very similar contact with them as you would, putting a request in via website or phone call.

We will get through this event and everything will go back to normal as soon as it can. But please help us take care of you and your neighbors by heeding these safety messages.

Thank you, Stay Safe.
