Richie Skiles for Latah County Sheriff

Richie Skiles for Latah County Sheriff For me, being your Latah County Sheriff since 2016 has been a privilege and honor and not just another position in law enforcement to fill.

I love what I do because I love serving the people of Latah County and the Sheriff’s Department.

Today's a day of rememberance. We pause to honor the 2,977 lives lost, the heros that answered the call, and the countless people whose lives were changed that day.

I’m privileged to work with an amazing group of men and women that choose every day to serve in Law Enforcement, to serve our communities, that answer the call of duty.

A huge thank you goes out to all our local law enforcement agencies!

Happy Law Enforcement Appreciation Day!

The Latah County Sheriff's Office wants to extend our appreciation for the men and women that are serving Latah County. We are grateful for each and every one of you and your dedication to your community.

Today is the day to show your appreciation for your local law enforcement. You can do so by wearing blue, send a card to your local department, share a positive law enforcement experience on social media, participate in a local Blue Blood Drive or simply thank a police officer.

Help us congratulate our newest Idaho POST graduate, Deputy Gaede.

Deputy Gaede graduated the Idaho Peace Officer Standard and Training academy for patrol last week. After 14 long weeks away, we are happy to have him back in Latah County.

Congratulations!

The Latah County Sheriff’s Office needs the public’s help locating and identifying a man at the Scenic 6 Park in Potlatch. We received a call regarding a man sleeping under some tarps at the park and citizens were concerned for his welfare due to the elements. He was last seen wearing all black rain gear.

Deputies have checked all surrounding buildings, train tracks, old mill and entire park. We want to make sure we can connect this man to any services that might be of help since the weather is getting below freezing at night.

Let’s come together as a community and make sure our citizens are taken care of! If you know who he is or see him, please give us a call at 208-882-2216.
