🛒 OKAY… BUT WHAT ABOUT A GROCERY STORE? 🛒

After our recent “What’s Happening in Moscow Mills" post, I saw the comments.

And yes, I know.

We need a grocery store.

I hear it all the time. “Have you talked to a grocery store?” “Why can’t we get one?” “What do we need to do to get one here?”

Believe me, we would love to have one too.

The part that people do not always see is that getting a grocery store interested in a community is not as simple as making a phone call and asking them to come.

Grocery companies study the numbers very closely before they invest in a new location. They look at the entire surrounding area, not just the population inside Moscow Mills.

They are looking at things like:

🏠 How many households are in the area
📈 How fast the community is growing
💵 Household income and spending
🚗 Traffic counts
🛒 What grocery stores are already nearby
📍 Available property, access and visibility
📊 Whether they believe the store can do enough business to be successful

So, yes, the City can talk to developers, promote Moscow Mills, provide information, identify good locations and let retailers know what is happening here.

But at the end of the day, the grocery company has to believe the numbers work.

And that is why the growth you are seeing matters.

Every new house, every new subdivision, every new business and every new development helps strengthen those numbers.

So when you see more rooftops going up and more businesses coming in, that is not separate from trying to attract a grocery store.

That is part of how we get there.

We hear you. We want one too. And we will absolutely continue doing what we can to make Moscow Mills a community that grocery stores and other retailers want to invest in.

Come grow with us — we are building the customer base that brings the businesses our community keeps asking for.

Moscow Mills is growing! 🌱🏗️

There has been a lot of conversation around town about new businesses, construction, and development, so we wanted to share an update on some of the projects and businesses that we can confirm are happening in Moscow Mills.

From new construction at Crossroads Center and C-61 Crossing, to the upcoming McDonald’s, new businesses opening their doors, and existing commercial spaces being filled — there is a lot happening throughout our community.
