Annually, billions of gallons of water are used to finish fabrics and other substrates that go into our clothes, uniforms, home products, automobile fabrics, nonwovens and other commercial and consumer end products. Globally, textile manufacturing--and the resulting water and energy consumption from this process-- are expected to grow. At the same time, water scarcity and water quality degradation
are becoming major global concerns. In addition, the energy needed to fuel manufacturing is generating harmful green house gas emissions. In the face of this issue, the global textile industry is looking for ways to balance demand with sustainability, without losing substrate performance. APJeT® has developed a revolutionary technology that eliminates the use of water in the finishing process, while providing a superior end product with comparable or with even better quality than the traditional water-intensive processes currently used to apply finishes to substrates. The APJeT® Dry Plasma Process uses atmospheric plasma and eliminates the need for water. Our machines operate at atmospheric pressure and do not require vacuum systems to apply and cure finishes. Our technology was designed with the environment in mind and no harmful emissions or waste water treatments are associated with APJeT’s technology. Chemistry is applied without water or heat and without any degradation to fabrics or other substrates.
