Well... Mother Nature apparently looked at our quiet week and said, "Hold my thunderstorm." ⛈️😅

🌦️ Morris County Weather Update – Saturday

After giving us a brief break, it looks like we're back on Mother Nature's schedule.

Round 1: ⏰ Approximately 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM
• Scattered showers and thunderstorms
• 40–60% chance of storms

Round 2: ⏰ Approximately 3:00 PM – 8:00 PM
• A more organized line of thunderstorms moves into New Jersey
• 60–70% chance of storms
• Potential wind gusts exceeding 60 mph
• Rainfall of 0.50–1.00 inch, with isolated areas receiving significantly higher amounts

⚠️ A Flood Watch has been issued for Morris County from Saturday morning through late Saturday night.

Some storms could produce 2–3 inches of rain in just 1–2 hours, which may lead to:
🌧️ Flash flooding
🌊 Flooded roadways
🌳 Downed trees and branches
⚡ Scattered power outages
🚧 Hazardous travel conditions

A few friendly reminders:
🚗 Never drive through flooded roadways. Turn Around, Don't Drown.
📱 Have multiple ways to receive weather warnings.
🔋 Charge your phones and electronic devices before the storms arrive.
🏡 Secure lightweight outdoor furniture and umbrellas before they become neighborhood UFOs. 👽

We have been in contact with our partners at JCP&L and are well aware of their storm deployment plan. As always, we will remain in close communication with them throughout this weather event.

Dangerous Heat - Wednesday through Saturday 3:00 PM EDT
Key Messages:
● High temperatures Wednesday through Saturday 95-105°F for most areas (hottest days look to be Thursday and Friday), then some cooling mainly on Sunday. Overnight low temperatures only dropping into the mid 70s to low 80s will offer little to no relief.
● Heat index values are forecast to be between 100-110°F Wednesday through Saturday, with the heat starting to ease some on Sunday.
● Some thunderstorms will be possible mostly during the afternoon and evening of Friday, Saturday and Sunday. If they occur, they will offer some local relief.
● The combination of very hot and humid conditions (near record breaking) for multiple consecutive days will increase the risk for heat related illnesses, especially for the elderly and the young.

Hi everyone,
Please don’t blame us… this one is coming straight from the National Weather Service. They have issued a Tornado Watch for portions of New Jersey, including Morris County, which is currently in effect until 7:00 PM.
As if that wasn’t enough excitement for a Monday, they also added a Wind Advisory in effect until 2:00 AM Tuesday, with gusts that could reach up to around 50 mph.
This might be a good time to take a quick look outside and make sure any lawn or deck furniture that recently came out to enjoy the nice weather is tucked away so it doesn’t decide to take a tour of the neighborhood. Patio umbrellas, lightweight chairs, and loose items can easily become airborne in winds like this.
We will continue to monitor the situation and pass along any updates if needed.
