Subject: Vote NO on the “Big Beautiful Bill” Uphold Conservative Values, Protect America’s Future
Dear Representative,
I’m writing to urge you to vote NO on the so-called “Big Beautiful Bill.” While the name may sound appealing, the content of this legislation represents a departure from key conservative principles: fiscal responsibility, efficient government, personal freedom, and national strength through community, not dependency.
Below are major concerns, grounded in policy and principle:
1. HEALTHCARE: Cuts to Medicaid and Misguided Medicare “Reform.” The proposed cuts to Medicaid will directly impact millions of Americans, including seniors, low-income families, and people with disabilities. While work requirements may sound prudent, the reality is they add red tape and deny coverage to individuals who are already struggling.
Additionally, the idea of using AI to root out “waste” in Medicare may sound modern, but it risks disrupting care for our seniors based on opaque algorithms rather than doctor-patient trust. We should be investing in preventative care and community clinics, proven ways to reduce costs, rather than using technology to ration access.
2. IMMIGRATION: Billions for Border Spending Without Real Reform. Strong borders matter. But throwing billions at detention centers and a wall, without addressing legal immigration pathways, asylum backlogs, or workforce needs, is not strategic governance. Border security should be smart, not just expensive. Taxpayers deserve more than blank checks.
3. EDUCATION: Cutting Special Education Hurts Families and Communities. Proposed education cuts, especially those that impact disabled students, are not only shortsighted, they’re costly in the long run. Early intervention and specialized education save money by reducing long-term dependency and incarceration rates. This is not an area for austerity. Smart investments here protect both liberty and taxpayer dollars.
4. TAX POLICY: Helping the Wealthy, Ignoring Structural Reform. While I support tax relief and growth-oriented policy, this bill’s focus on expanding the pass-through deduction for high-income earners ignores the structural tax challenges small businesses face. True reform means simplifying the code, not handing out carve-outs that favor only a few.
5. NUTRITION (SNAP): Cutting Food Assistance is Counterproductive SNAP isn’t just a safety net, it’s an economic stabilizer. Families that can feed their children are healthier, more productive, and less likely to rely on emergency services or public healthcare. Every dollar in SNAP returns $1.50–$1.80 to the economy. Cuts here are not just cruel, they’re inefficient.
6. RECONCILIATION & RAMMING THROUGH POLICY
Using the reconciliation process to force this sweeping bill through without bipartisan support undermines the democratic process and puts temporary political gain ahead of thoughtful governance. Conservatives should lead by principle, not party-line politics.
BOTTOM LINE: WE NEED TARGETED REFORM, NOT BLOATED POLICYThis bill cuts crucial programs while handing out tax breaks to the already well-off. It sacrifices smart, preventative strategies that save us money long-term in favor of short-term optics. It does not reflect the best of conservative governance.
Please vote NO on the “Big Beautiful Bill” and help lead the way toward smarter, more principled policymaking, fiscal responsibility, efficient spending, and a true commitment to American families.
Sincerely,
