Twenty-five years have passed since the morning that forever changed our nation. Yet the memories, the sacrifices, and the courage shown on September 11, 2001, remain with us today.
On this 25th anniversary, Morristown Rescue Squad pauses to remember the nearly 3,000 innocent lives lost and to honor the firefighters, law enforcement officers, EMS personnel, dispatchers, military members, and ordinary citizens who answered the call during one of America’s darkest days.
We remember those who ran toward danger while others were running away. We remember the families who never got to say goodbye. We remember the survivors and the first responders who carried the weight of that day for years afterward.
25 years later, their courage still inspires us.
25 years later, their sacrifice still humbles us.
25 years later, we still remember.
As members of the emergency services family, we honor those who gave everything in service to others and those who continue to live with the effects of that day.
May we never forget how our nation came together, neighbor helping neighbor, stranger helping stranger, and first responders answering the call without hesitation.
