This lovely, framed work of art made by Bruce Gordon could be yours (and maybe even for as little as $1!). Tickets are available at the Grundy County Conservation office and from the Historical Collections Board members. Tickets will also be available during the Pioneer Craft Fair as well, where this print will be on display for all to see before it goes home with the lucky winner.

For all archers out there, we’d love to announce that Grundy Center is having their own 3D bowshoot on Saturday, August 22nd! With 40 targets to choose from, it’s sure to be a great event – we hope you’ll please attend and show your support.

That’s right! The annual 3-D Archery Shootout is back again. Featuring multiple targets in multiple environments: pronghorn, bear, boar, deer (and maybe some other surprises). Take your aim across a field, deep in the woods, and near flowing water, and test your skills in your class. This is a BYOB event (bring your own bow), and we hope it will be a great opportunity to give several people a fun day to celebrate the sport. Taking place on August 15 & 16, registration is from 7:30am-12:30pm, at the Blackhawk Creek Wildlife Area. We hope to see you there!

Hunter Safety class has come and gone, and we’d like to thank everyone who attended. Staying safe during hunting season and beyond is an important skill, and classes like these are very important for teaching not only the mechanics of what will be used, but the hunter’s awareness of themselves, others, and their environment. Grundy County Conservation staff are here to not only teach these classes, but to share real life experiences. We appreciate the attention and studiousness of all who wish to learn. Thanks once again!

July 23rd was a blast! We’d like to thank all volunteers and participants who rode through Morrison during RAGBRAI 2026! It was a day filled with fun, live music, hot frybread, cold watermelon and eggs on a stick, and many visitors to our little Grundy County Heritage Museum and the Pioneer Trail. Thank you all!
