This post was brought to my attention this evening and I would like to address this matter. In 2006 and at the young age of 22 I unfortunately got caught up in a very bad situation where I put all of my trust in two individuals that I looked up to. Due to being young and naive it caused me a class c misdemeanor and being scared and young I didn't know any better and my only legal council was a public defender and I pled guilty to the charges. I regret my decision to trust, however now 19 years later I have never had a criminal charge against me, furthermore I have not been in any trouble other than a driving offense. In the years since this awful situation I have ran a multimillion dollar company, and was President of the Morris citizen police academy. I take pride in my word, and stand by honesty and integrity, I am human and I am not perfect, and people make mistakes. My hope is that the citizens of Morris can and will understand this, and hopefully see the bigger picture, I grew up, I got wiser, and have made better choices. Happy Wednesday folks, I wanted to write a little post to introduce myself, some of you have known me a lifetime and know me very well, however some on here do not, and everyone I'm sure would like to know what has driven me to run for City Clerk of Morris.
I've lived in this beautiful community for about 21 years, as I have grown I have also watched this amazing community grow as well. I am a GiGi to two beautiful little girls, I work in this community and have for many years.
I was raised in a small town south of Springfield Illinois, where I attended high school, when my mom decided to relocate to Morris, I followed and I'm so glad I did, however going home is still my favorite.
I was raised to be responsible and to do what's right, to be strong minded, but also open minded. I had a great upbringing surrounded by some pretty amazing people. My grandpa taught me how to never give up, and how to remain resilient. I was shown to always be the voice of those that can't, to never be silent on what I believe in and stand for.
So over the years I have seen some things I just can't stay silent about in our community, some things that need attention, and I figured the only way to help make changes and better our community was by running for a position that allowed me to have a voice.

So as this election gets underway I'd like everyone to take a look at our community, read, understand and do some research, as the people of Morris you deserve the best, and what's fair. I can't promise to fix every problem or situation but I can promise to listen to your concerns, and your ideas, and be present, and do my very best to do what is right for the people of Morris and our amazing community. It is time that the people of Morris are heard, it is time for change, so together let's make a difference, and remember every vote counts. Thank You,Karla White. , , .
