The City of Okmulgee is issuing a precautionary boil order due to an interruption to the chlorine disinfection process. Other processes were not compromised. Repairs were completed around midnight, and all plant processes are again functioning normally. However, water has made it into the system that has not been suitably exposed to chlorination.

City staff will be flushing and testing for residual on 4/3/2026, and once confirmation of safe drinking water, we will lift the advisory. We will advise on this page, and the okmulgeeonline website when the advisory is lifted

❄️With bitter cold temps please make sure your water meter lid is secure and know where your main shutoff valve is. You may put a carpet or blanket on top of the lid to help it to not freeze, be aware that unprotected pipes may burst. Disconnect hoses and turn off water sprinklers. Open sink cabinets to expose pipes to heated air and drip faucets. Please report water emergencies immediately. Stay safe!❄️
