The Morris Fire Protection and Ambulance District is pleased to announce it has been awarded a $26,000 Small Equipment Grant from the Illinois Office of the State Fire Marshal (OSFM).

The grant funding will be used to purchase new firefighting turnout gear for five firefighters. Turnout gear, commonly referred to as bunker gear, provides critical protection for firefighters operating in hazardous environments and is an essential component of firefighter safety.

"We are extremely grateful to the Illinois Office of the State Fire Marshal for their continued support of fire departments throughout the state," said Fire Chief Tracey Steffes. "This funding will help ensure our firefighters have the modern protective equipment they need to safely serve our community."

The Morris Fire Protection and Ambulance District remains committed to providing the highest level of emergency services while maintaining the safety and well-being of its personnel. This grant investment will help the District continue that mission by replacing aging protective equipment and ensuring firefighters are equipped with reliable, up-to-date gear.
