Come out this afternoon for the Parsippany Strong Pasta Dinner & Tricky Tray Fundraiser in support of Anthony Shandra and his family.

Dinner starts at 4:00 PM, with prize drawings beginning at 7:00 PM at the Parsippany PAL Building, 33 Baldwin Road.

Anthony has given more than 20 years to the Mount Tabor Fire Department, and today is our chance to show up for him. Grab your family, bring some friends, enjoy a good meal, and help us make this a strong turnout.

25 years later, the weight of September 11, 2001 has not faded.

Today, we remember the nearly 3,000 lives lost, the first responders who ran toward danger, and the countless families whose lives were forever changed. We remember the 343 FDNY firefighters who made the ultimate sacrifice, along with the police officers, EMS personnel, Port Authority members, and so many others who answered the call that morning.

For those of us in the fire service, September 11 is more than a date in history. It is a reminder of courage, sacrifice, brotherhood, and the responsibility that comes with serving our communities.

A generation has now grown up without firsthand memories of that day. It is our responsibility to continue telling the stories, honoring the fallen, and making sure their sacrifice is never forgotten.

25 years later, we remember. We honor. We will never forget.

Call #459 - 9/9/26 - 04:46 - The MTVFD was requested for the RIC by the Chatham Borough Vol Fire Dept. Assoc. for a commercial structure fire. Crews arrived on scene and stood fast while multiple agencies worked to extinguish the fire and prevented it from spreading to adjacent buildings. Crews were released around 6:15am. Deputy 1, Rescue 14, and Utility 16 responded.

The Parsippany Strong Pasta Dinner & Tricky Tray Fundraiser will be held at the Parsippany PAL Building, 33 Baldwin Road. Dinner starts at 4:00 PM, with prize drawings beginning at 7:00 PM.

Anthony has been part of the Mount Tabor Fire Department family for more than 20 years, and this is our chance to be there for him while he continues his recovery. We’d really like to see a strong turnout from our members, friends, families, and the entire community.

Call #455 | Mutual Aid – Denville
9/7/26 | 4:00 AM

Early this morning, the Mount Tabor Volunteer Fire Department was requested to provide mutual aid to Denville for a tractor-trailer rollover on Route 80 involving entrapment and fire.

While responding, MTVFD units were assigned to assist Denville crews with fire suppression, ventilation, overhaul, and water supply operations. Our members operated on scene for approximately two hours before being released by command.

Chief 1, Deputy 1, Squad 12, Engine 13, and Rescue 14 responded.

The Boonton Township Fire Department and Rockaway Township FD also responded with tankers to assist with water supply issues during the incident.

Route 80 was closed in both directions for approximately 90 minutes while emergency crews operated. Any additional information regarding the incident should be directed to the Denville Police Department, Denville Volunteer Fire Department, or New Jersey State Police.

Members spent Thursday night getting our apparatus cleaned, polished, and ready for the annual Boonton Labor Day Parade.

It takes plenty of behind-the-scenes work to keep our trucks looking their best, and our members were happy to put in the time ahead of one of the area’s great Labor Day traditions. We’re looking forward to joining our neighboring departments and the Boonton community for the parade.

Keep an eye out for the Mount Tabor trucks along the route, and give our members a wave when you see us!

Looking for a clean, flexible space for your next event? The Mount Tabor Volunteer Fire Department hall is available to rent and can be set up for everything from smaller gatherings to larger celebrations, meetings, and special events.

Our newly constructed, fully air-conditioned and ADA-compliant hall features plenty of room to make your event your own. The space can accommodate 113 guests seated with tables, 242 guests seated without tables, or up to 339 guests standing.

Your rental includes white chairs, two large 8' x 4' tables, twelve 60" round tables, a large refrigerator, soda gun, Bluetooth audio system, one large presentation TV, two additional bar TVs, and an outdoor deck with seating. Local catering options are also available.

The hall is a great fit for birthdays, Sweet 16s, graduation and retirement parties, engagement parties, bridal and baby showers, weddings, anniversaries, lectures, training events, seminars, retreats, and more.

Last month, a few of our members attended a wetdown hosted by the Pequannock Township Fire Department.

Wetdowns are a long-standing fire service tradition celebrating new apparatus and bringing departments together for an afternoon of camaraderie, fire trucks, and, of course, plenty of water.

It was a great opportunity to spend time with fellow firefighters, check out some apparatus, and enjoy one of the traditions that makes the fire service community so special.

Thanks to the Pequannock Township Fire Department for having us. We had a great time and only got a little wet!
