The Borough has been busy, and I am proud to serve as Mayor and celebrate the many accomplishments that make Morris Plains such a special Community of Caring.

My Saturday morning began with Family Fitness, organized by our Municipal Alliance. It was wonderful to see participants of all ages coming together to promote healthy lifestyles, community engagement, and fun.

I also joined Oasis Market, Morris Plains Automotive, and BP in celebrating their Grand Re-Opening on Route 10. Congratulations to the owners and staff on this exciting milestone, and thank you for your continued investment in our community.

On Sunday afternoon, I had the honor of attending the Eagle Scout Court of Honor for Nathaniel Hayes and Armaan Joshi. Achieving the rank of Eagle Scout is a testament to years of hard work, leadership, perseverance, and service to others. Congratulations to these two outstanding young men on this commendable achievement.

I then had the pleasure of celebrating Abigail Higgins as she received the Girl Scout Gold Award, the highest achievement in Girl Scouting. This prestigious honor reflects Abigail’s dedication, leadership, and commitment to making a positive impact. Congratulations, Abigail, on this incredible milestone.

Weekends like this remind me how fortunate we are to live in a community filled with dedicated volunteers, thriving local businesses, and young people who are leading by example.

Today, we remember the brave men and women who gave their lives for our freedom, we are reminded that their sacrifice was made through every hardship and every season — in extreme heat, bitter cold, rain, and uncertainty.

No weather can diminish the courage they showed or the gratitude we owe them. Their selfless service gave us the freedoms and opportunities we enjoy each day.

On this Memorial Day, may we pause to honor those heroes, remember their families, and never forget the price that was paid for our nation.

May we always strive to live worthy of their sacrifice here in our Community of Caring.

On this rainy and cool Memorial Day, we pause to commemorate and honor the brave men and women who gave the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom. Nothing deterred us from honoring them, especially the weather.

Their courage, service, and devotion to our nation will never be forgotten.

Today, we remember our fallen heroes with gratitude and respect, and we keep their families in our thoughts. May we always honor their legacy by cherishing the freedoms they fought to protect.

From our Community of Caring, we thank all who have served and those who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country.

Looks like the Mayor’s house got “flocked” overnight!

A surprise lawn full of pink flamingos can only mean one thing… we’ve officially been welcomed into the flock!

It was definitely a sight to wake up to, and honestly, it’s an honor to be flocked in the Community of Caring. Thank you to the mystery flamingo crew for the laughs, the smiles, and for making our lawn the most colorful stop in town today!

Now the big question is… who’s next?

Gia has joined a dedicated and valuable team of Borough employees who work each day to serve our residents and help keep our community running smoothly.

Our Borough staff are respected, appreciated, and an important part of what makes Morris Plains such a special place to live and work. We are grateful for their commitment and service to our community.

Looking forward to the warm weather and all the summer activities here in the Boro!

We are nearing completion of the refurbishing of our tennis courts and getting our community pool ready for another great season.

Important repairs are being made to capture and recycle water, along with repairing concrete joints to stop water leaks and help lower operating costs. These improvements will help ensure our pool remains a wonderful place for residents and families to gather all summer long.

Our community pool is truly an important part of our “Community of Caring” and we look forward to another terrific season together outside in the sun!
