While mostly a rural community, it takes great pride in its strong sense of traditional and patriotic values. Morrice offers more than what most would expect of such a small community. It has its own school system, post office, and police officers. Several businesses garnish the downtown district, including a restaurant, hardware store, and other sought-after services. It is also home to the Morrice Community Senior Center, which provides a wide-range of services, including rental space for receptions, open houses, and group gatherings. One of the most popular traditions of Morrice is the annual Morrice Homecoming Festival, which features a parade, entertainment and races, food, craft shows, and much more. Every year, the festival holds a raffle awarding prizes, as well as the exciting fireworks display that tops off the one-day event. Whether you are a resident or a visitor to the Morrice area, you are warmly welcomed to come and be a part of this engaging event.

This weekend will be a busy one in the Village of Morrice!

Please be aware of several road closures that will impact the village due to the Morrice 150-Year Celebration & Homecoming and St. Mary’s Fall Festival.

Saturday, September 12th - 150-Year Celebration

The following roads/areas will be closed:
Morrice Community Park: 11:00 AM-6:30 PM
W. Davis Street along the Community Park: 12:00-6:30 PM
Main Street, from Second Street to Third Street: 5:00-11:30 PM NO STREET PARKING DURING THIS TIME. Any vehicle parked on main street after 5:30pm will be towed.
Alley Way behind Morrice Insurance Agency: 6:00-11:30 PM

Saturday & Sunday, September 12th-13th - St. Mary’s Fall Festival

To support the Fall Festival, Main Street from Davis Street to Mason Street will be closed Saturday 8:30-7pm and Sunday 8:30-5pm.

Please note: There will be no turnaround point at the Davis St /Main St end of the closure.

We appreciate everyone’s patience and cooperation as we celebrate two separate community celebrations and enjoy a fun-filled weekend in our community!

Please give a (virtual) round of applause for our 150 Year Celebration and Homecoming Grand Marshal - David Robertson

Dave and his high school sweetheart have made a lasting impact on the Morrice community.

Throughout the years, Dave has found countless ways to give back to the Morrice community. From owning and operating Morrice Hardware from 1969–1989, to serving on the building committee for the new Morrice High School in 1973 and volunteering with the Perry, Morrice & Shaftsburg Ambulance Service from 1982–1992, Dave has always been willing to lend a hand. He has also mentored many Morrice elementary alumni, served as treasurer of the Perry Food Bank, and remained an active member of his church. His dedication to helping others has truly made a lasting difference in our community.

While this list is certainly not all-encompassing, it highlights just some of the many ways Dave has given back to and supported our community over the years. If you see Dave around town, make sure to stop and say hi!

Thank you, Dave, for your many years of service, dedication, and impact on Morrice. We are so grateful to have you as our Grand Marshal!

Morrice's 150th Celebration is Almost Here!

We can't wait to celebrate with everyone on Saturday, September 12! We've got a full day planned, and there's truly something for all ages.

Kick things off with the parade at 11:30 AM, then head over to the park from 1:00-6:00 PM for local businesses, our history exhibit, petting zoo, face painting, inflatables, games, and more!

Enjoy live music by The Lawsons and horse-drawn carriage rides from 2:00-5:00 PM, then end the day with a family movie downtown at dusk.

Whether you stay all day or just stop by for a little while, we'd love to celebrate this milestone with you.
