Morrice Police Department

Morrice Police Department Information about the Morrice Police Department and its officers. Updates on current activities for the Village of Morrice.

01/05/2024

We would like to wish everyone a Happy New Year. Hard to believe it is 2024. Big thank you goes out to all that dropped off goodies over the Holidays. Much appreciated.

We have had a very mild winter so far, but the forecast is looking that we might be getting some of that snow in the near future. I wanted to remind our residence that the winter parking ordinance went into effect on November 1st. There is no parking allowed on any street in the Village from 3am until 7am. This is to allow our DPW to plow and salt the streets during these times without any vehicles in their way. Please do your part to help us to keep the streets as clear as possible. It is possible that you could receive a parking citation if you are parked on the road during the times listed. This parking restriction continues through April 1st.

Also remember that it is the responsibility of the homeowner/resident to keep the sidewalk adjacent to your property clear of snow and ice.

As always, drive safe and watch your speeds. Thank you for helping to keep our Village a safe place.

As you can see I do not get on this page nearly enough. If you need to get with me please call the department and I will return your call when I get it. I wanna thank all the parents for their patience today during our first day of school. A little reminder that the speed limit on most all streets in the Village is 25 MPH. Take that extra second to drive safely.

Hello all just wanted to give you a safety heads up. I received a complaint today from a subject that stated that while they were in Morrice trick or treating, they apparently lost their pistol. It was stated by the subject that they had the pistol in their holster when they began trick or treating, but did not realize it was missing until the next day as they thought they had put it in their vehicle. The subject stated that they had searched the area yesterday with no luck. I do not normally post complaints here, but this is a huge safety concern for all of us out there, especially our kids. Please remind your children the safety rules about finding a weapon.
1st - Stop what you are doing
2nd - DO NOT TOUCH IT
3rd - Leave the area
4th - Go tell an adult
I will update this post if the weapon is located.

Anyone know who this nice dog belongs to? Located near the PD. Please share.

Here is a friendly reminder to all of our Morrice residents. It is that time of year and although the weather has been on the warmer side we all know that the white snow will be back before we know it. The NO PARKING on any street is now in affect from 3 AM until 7 AM. This allows for our DPW guys to plow the streets without any obstructions in their way. Also please remember to clean your sidewalks off as we still have children that walk to school in the morning and some other residents that enjoy a walk in the winter without having to trudge through sidewalks that have not been cleared. If the sidewalk is adjacent to your property it is your responsibility to keep it clean. We appreciate all of your help in making this winter an enjoyable one.

Just a reminder to all you parents out there to keep in mind. Please mark you calendars for Saturday December 12 from 11 AM to 1 PM as Santa Claus will be making a stop at the Morrice Community Park (formerly known as Lions Park). Bring your children in to see Santa and enjoy a gift, candy cane, and hot chocolate (while supplies last). Also please remember to bring your cameras to get a photo of your little one with Santa. The activity is free to all, but donations are always welcome to help. We hope to see you there.
