With winter in full swing, snow and ice can quickly cover fire hydrants — and in an emergency, every second counts.

We’re asking residents to please take a few minutes to clear snow and ice at least 3 feet around any fire hydrant near your home or business. Keeping hydrants visible and accessible helps us respond faster and more effectively when it matters most.

If you’re out shoveling your driveway or sidewalk, please consider “adopting” a nearby hydrant. Your small effort could make a big difference in an emergency.

As always, the Moriah Fire Department is here 24/7 to serve our community. Stay safe and thank you for your support!
