We’re incredibly proud to have partnered with Valley HealthCare System, United Way, and the Governor's Highway Safety Program to host our first-ever Community Safety Day at the Morgantown Public Safety Center.

From free car seat inspections and safety education to autism awareness resources and financial literacy workshops, the event focused on the importance of working together to build a safer, stronger community.

We are incredibly grateful to our partners for helping make this event possible and for their continued commitment to serving local families. Opportunities like this allow us to connect with community members outside of emergency situations and strengthen the relationships that help keep Morgantown safe.

Thank you to everyone who attended, participated, and helped make our first Community Safety Day a success. We look forward to continuing these important community partnerships in the future!

The United Way also gave away free car seats to those who took part in financial literacy workshops with the organization.

We honor the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty, and we stand alongside their families, friends, and fellow officers in remembering their service and legacy. Their commitment to protecting others will never be forgotten.

The Morgantown Police Department has received multiple reports of fraudulent calls from individuals claiming to be an Officer or Sergeant regarding missed jury duty or similar issues.

Please remember:
🚫 MPD will NEVER call and demand payment, gift cards, or money for missing jury duty or any other legal matter.

If you receive one of these calls and want to verify its legitimacy, contact MPD directly at 304-284-7522, option. We are available 24/7.

The Morgantown Police Department will be testing for new officers this Saturday, April 25 at 9 a.m. Please note that the location for this test has changed, and it will now be conducted at 1389 Earl L Core Rd. To submit an application, please visit our website.

We love West Virginia Sober Living, Inc.! It's a pleasure to work alongside Allen, who plays a vital role in helping individuals find a path toward proven treatment and recovery resources.

Allen (pictured here with the members of the Morgantown Police Department ) is a former house manager of men’s recovery housing program in Morgantown. His current work on our Police and Peers team focuses on deflecting & diverting individuals away from arrest, prosecution, and incarceration into proven treatment methods. Allen is a person in long-term recovery and a certified Peer Recovery Support Specialist and is trained in Crisis Intervention. He is passionate about helping others achieve long-term recovery and overall health and wellness.
