"I ran into a friend tonight at the peaceful march in Chicago. He was carrying a huge American flag on a long pole. He carried it for the whole 3 miles. I caught up with him at the end of the march and he asked me to help him roll it up without it touching the ground.
It wasn't one of those light nylon flags, it was heavy canvas. He told me it was the flag that was draped over his father's coffin. He had taken it out of its glass case and decided his dad would want him to carry it."
