Before House of Hagar Fellowship on Sundays, there is a church service that meets at YSS. Many people call it “the homeless church”.
Today at the service, a worried Susan (from Street Moms, who leads the prayers) asked people to pray for a young family member in Morgantown that fell on the ice and hit his head so hard that he is now in icu and having emergency brain surgery.
George said, " Oh no!!!!! We need to take up a collection!!!!! He ran and grabbed the collection plate and started running around the church collecting what people were pulling out.
What was given has quite a resemblance to the "widow's mite"!
I have to think this might be one of God's favorite offering collections of the day-The treasure's of "the people".
In the collection plate was:the little money they had, the 2 new pairs of underwear they desperately need, the cigarette they really wanted, the shoe strings they are supposed to pull themselves up with ... and what was at first thought to maybe be drugs..turned out to be salt... salt!…and really had us contemplating what it really means to be " the salt of the earth"!
There is no “ homeless church” friends , there is only “The Church”, and this is what its love looked like today. 🙏🏼❤️
