Our volunteers at Carteret Community College (Wayne West and Bryant buildings) obtained 10 voter registrations, did about 25 voter searches to help folks verify their current registration, and spoke to about 175 folks about the upcoming election. LWVCC and Carteret Community College had a strong start for our Voter Registration week. We will be at the tables on Tuesday and Wednesday from 9 to 3, and on Thursday from 9 to 1. Please stop by if you want to register to vote, change your voter registration, or have questions about the upcoming election.

2026 North Carolina
Constitutional Amendment Referenda –
What your vote means

Every NC voter’s ballot for the 2026 NC General Elec on will include three referenda to amend provisions of the North Carolina State Constitution. The League of Women Voters of North Carolina and The League of Women Voters of Carteret County want you to understand what the purpose of each referendum is, and explain some of the effects of a “FOR” vote and an “AGAINST” vote.

The Election Director and two Board of Election members (a Democrat and a Republican member) will answer questions that have been sent in by citizens. You must register to get a login, but the event is FREE. We hope Carteret County voters will tune in on September 1st!

Hi everyone, come and join us Monday, June 8th 10:30-12:00 noon at the Unitarian Coastal Fellowship Church, 2900 Bridges Street in MHC for a letter writing event. We are asking people to help write letters to our legislators to consider increasing step pay for experienced teachers who will hit a plateau after 15 years of service. We need to get the word out!
