st manifest honest stewardship of the public trust. Government should be efficient, accountable, people-friendly, and open to examination and inquiry. Elected and appointed public officials should be free of any conflict of interest or the appearance of such conflict at all times. Governmental meetings should be open to the public, with exceptions only in instances supported by law. Opportunity for public comment and input should be the norm.

Elections will be held Nov. 3 for a U.S. Senate seat as well as all 14 of the state's U.S. House of Representatives seats, all seats in the North Carolina Senate as well as judicial and local elections.
