Hey everyone! Moran VFD is trying to raise funds for a 2nd fire truck that we would like to purchase from the City of Albany VFD. We currently have only 1 operating fire truck and would like to add another to be able to serve you better in an emergency! We serve Moran as well as the surrounding rural areas of southern Shackelford county as well as provide mutual aid to all those fire departments around us when they call. Please help us better serve you! Pick a day on the calendar and pay that amount it’s that simple. We also have venmo for easy pay or we can arrange to meet in person. Thank you for your support!

There are 2 large fires between Albany and abilene that are producing lots of smoke that is drifting into Moran and the surrounding areas. Just wanted to make everyone aware of where the smoke is coming from.

Please be aware that there are a large amount of bees in the top of the old museum building next to the Moran City Park. They have been super active and aggressive this past week and we don’t want anyone to get seriously injured. Please for your own safety stay clear of the museum so they don’t get stirred up and agitated.

Thank you so much to everyone who came out and purchased goodies at our bake sale! We had a bunch of folks buy, donate goods to sell, and even just make donations! It was a huge success! You can also drop off donations at Moran city hall during business hours Mon-Fri 9-1. We are needing donations of supplies as well including: baby wipes, wash cloths, Powerade or Gatorade, Visine, Tylenol, Advil, bandannas, snack crackers. We are also in need of a new or used cooler that we can take on calls to ice down drinks and dip bandannas in to cool down. There will be a big box at city hall to put donations in.
