🚔 MORA COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE – JUNE 2026 TRAFFIC ENFORCEMENT NOTICE 🚔

Throughout the month of June 2026, the Mora County Sheriff’s Office will be conducting DWI checkpoints, saturation patrols, and traffic enforcement operations throughout Mora County.

These enforcement efforts are designed to reduce impaired driving, promote traffic safety, and keep our roadways safe for residents and visitors alike.

Deputies will be actively enforcing traffic laws, including violations related to:

• Driving While Intoxicated (DWI)
• Speeding
• Seat Belt Violations
• Distracted Driving
• Driver’s License Violations
• Vehicle Registration Violations

If you plan on consuming alcohol, please designate a sober driver or make arrangements for safe transportation before getting behind the wheel.

Our goal is not simply enforcement—our goal is to prevent crashes, injuries, and fatalities while ensuring the safety of everyone traveling throughout Mora County.

Please drive safely, drive responsibly, and help us keep Mora County roads safe.

The Mora County Sheriff's Office is asking for help locating a stolen tan and black 2025 Can-Am UTV taken from a property in Wagon Mound, New Mexico.
The theft occurred before May 29, 2026.

Beginning Tuesday, May 26, there will be a 24/7 single-lane, pilot car operation on NM 434 in Mora County near Coyote Creek. This work will occur from milepost 21.103 to milepost 23.319

Travelers can expect lower speeds and delays during construction. This operation is expected to last about 2.5 months. Fisher Sand and Gravel and the New Mexico Department of Transportation (NMDOT) thank you in advance for your patience and cooperation.

The Mora County Sheriff’s Office urges all residents and visitors to remain vigilant and avoid any activities that could spark a wildfire, including unattended campfires, outdoor burning, or the improper disposal of ci******es.

Please report any smoke or fire immediately to 911 or Mora County Dispatch at 505-425-6771.
