“My name is Kyle Kaczmarek, I am 20 years old from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. I have been a serious fisherman at home for about 4 years. When it was confirmed that I would be working out here, fishing was one of the top activities I was looking forward to doing. At first, I was not having very much luck, but I met a friend at work that took me to the dam at Jackson Lake. When I went with her that night I caught my first fish here and it was a Sucker!

So far I have caught many cutthroat trout, suckers, as well as one brown trout. I have enjoyed my time fishing in
Wyoming so much. I look forward to coming back to Jackson in the future for more fishing!” -

As the Bureau of Reclamation continues to draw down Jackson Lake to supply water to irrigation reservoirs in Idaho, low water levels require us to discontinue Colter Bay Village Marina operations earlier than anticipated.

At this time, the following activities are impacted:
🚤 Jackson Lake Meal Cruises – expected to close Wednesday, July 21
🚤 Jackson Lake Scenic Cruises – expected to close Friday, July 23
🚣‍♀️ Kayak, Canoe and Motorboat Rentals – expected to close Tuesday, August 10
🎣Guided Lake Fishing – expected to close Friday, July 23

These dates are subject to change based on changing conditions. Learn more about our area operations at https://www.gtlc.com/lodges/area-operations

Grand Teton National Park visitors, boaters, and river users should expect impacts to some recreational activities, including modified operations at lake marinas, from the expected drawdown of Jackson Lake. The public is advised to use caution when recreating on Jackson Lake and the Snake River downstream of Jackson Lake Dam.

🏕️Smoking is allowed only in an enclosed vehicle, developed recreation site, or while in an area at least three feet in diameter that is barren or cleared of flammable materials. (i.e parking lots, developed campsites, or locations surrounded by water).

🎉As the Independence Day holiday approaches, visitors are reminded that fireworks are not permitted in Grand Teton National Park, in the surrounding forests, or in Teton and Sublette Counties.

Teton Interagency fire managers elevated the fire danger rating to high for the Bridger-Teton National Forest, Grand Teton National Park, National Elk Refuge, and remaining portions of the Teton Interagency Dispatch area.

A high fire danger rating means fires can start easily and spread quickly. Unattended campfires and brush fires are likely to escape and can become serious and difficult to control. In areas where campfires are allowed, fires should never be unattended and must be completely extinguished. The charred remains of a campfire must be repeatedly doused with water and stirred into the campfire ring for it to be completely extinguished. All embers and logs should be broken up.
