NEW MEMBERS NEEDED!!

Did you know that your firedept is powered by volunteers!
Our community is protected by a deicated team that answeres the call at a moments notice, but we need more help.
Today, we respond to more than just fires, we respond to accidents, water / ice rescues, medical calls or hazardous incidents. We are currently looking for committed individuals to join our ranks.
No prior experience is necessary; we provide the training, gear and certifications. Volunteering alows you to learn life-saving skills, challenge yourself, and give back to your community.
If you are at least 18 years old or older, live in our fire protection district and want to be the one who runs towards the problem when others run out, we want to hear from you.
Please visit our website on how to apply.

Reminder : Drones are not allowed in working emergency areas. This includes both structure fires and wild fires. In wildfires we cannot fly the planes and helicopters that literally help put out the fires if there is a drone spotted.

At midnight May 31, 2026, Scuba Steve Trenhaile will officially retire from Moose Lake Area Fire District . We would like to take a moment to congratulate Steve on 32 remarkable years of service to the fire department. Throughout his career, Steve has accumulated countless hours responding to emergency calls and has been passionate about sharing Fire Prevention knowledge with local children.
Enjoy your Retirement Steve.....you will be missed.

I start my retirement from the Moose Lake Area Fire District effective June 1st.
I have been a active member for 32 years and have decided that is enough. The many years of serious medicals, accidents and structure fires will stay with me to the end but I have no regrets.
It has been a pleasure working side by side with past and present firefighters and Ambulance staff and you will always be my second family.
Be safe out there.

Yesterday members of our dept along with several other Carlton County departments attended the Celebration of Life of Mahtowa's Fire ChiefJim Fundine.
These departments shared taking over Mahtowa's coverage area for the day so they could honor Jim.
A majority of fire personnel in attendance have known Jim Fundine for many years and some had never met him, but attended any ways.....because thats what you do....Support.....support Jim's family, and support his fire family and support those of his community.
The service was great...alot of wonderful stories of Jim.

Be there.. great breakfast and time!
